Blogging The Quran 2
April 29, 2008 at 6:56 pm | In Islam, Learning, Muslims, Non-Muslim | 1 CommentI mentioned this Quran blogging venture hosted over at Guardian online a few months ago. I have been following it since it began and have to say I quite like it, particularly the discussions that offshoot from the blog itself in the comment space. I try to read it on a daily basis, but lapse somewhat depending on my weekly schedule.
From its inception there some concerns voiced, the predominant ones being alone the ”how can he blog about the Quran if he hasn’t even learnt Arabic; a mere person can’t do this kind of a task” line. Have these concerns manifested themselves in Ziauddin’s blogging venture? I have yet to come across it since not all of us are versed in Fusha (or lay Arabic) and so read the Quran as Ziauddin is reading it.
Do check it out if you haven’t done so yet

But realy i think knowing arabic is important for discussing Quran. Translations are not always trustworthy. You can see that what translation says is different from the original Arabic sourse.. I saw it alot in both Farsi and English translations.
