Blogging Ghost Town

November 2, 2009 at 11:17 am | In Rants | 21 Comments

For the blogs I used to (and still do) visit, I have noticed some have taken a sabbatical for various purposes. My break was non-intentional and came about due to a lack of time, feeling uninspired and being struck with “writers block”.

However I cant help but notice most of the blogsphere has an eerie silence about it, there are not that many visitors or bloggers who blog frequently anymore.

Have they all opted for Twitter instead of blogging?

Stuck-up Snobby Muslims

December 24, 2007 at 12:21 pm | In Muslims, Rants | 22 Comments

I’ve noticed this “trend” amongst some Muslims (usually the women sadly).

They seem to have “holier than thou” syndrome and believe themselves to be a par above everybody else. I’ve seen it mostly amongst those who declare themselves to be “Salafi’s”. Those who believe black is the only acceptable colour to wear outdoors, that if you don’t wear jilbab then really you don’t have a clue or a “right” opinion on anything. If you are not in hijaab then you are ignorant and a lesser Muslim. Or if you dislike niqaab then may you be struck by lightning! If you work then you are compromising your Islaam by working alongside men (sorry but I dont see our transport system as being segregated either – so you must be compromising yours when you decide to go to that oh so important shopping mall to buy, yet again, frivilous frilly knickers and low plunging dresses)

I had no idea that being on the salaf meant you lose your mannerisms, compassion, empathy and patience!

I dont know what the men are like since I haven’t been in their warped company (and probably never will be since we are fitnah, our very being is corrupt. We should be seen and not heard!)

Overall their approach and attitude is absolutely pathetic (the one’s I’ve come across anyway). God save me from such people.

God save us all from such people!

Criminal Happiness

Sometimes it feels criminal to be happy, especially when most people around you are miserable or down and out.

Over-rated

November 19, 2007 at 12:34 pm | In Rants | 27 Comments

Following on from Haleems comment

Eh… dying is over-rated.

it sparked off a list of things that I personally believe are definitely over-rated.

My list is as follows:

  •  Marriage (The beginning of the end of your life as I call it)
  • Sex (Dont need to explain this one do I?)
  • Love (I’ve got a feeling im going to be annihilated for this one…)
  •  Chocolate (Apart from the odd Ferrero Rocher; chocolate doesn’t do anything for me)
  •  Employment (self explanatory)
  •  University (aside from the lie in’s – I much preferred school life over uni)
  •  Being a husband/wife (Yes. Its not as wonderful as people make it out to be)
  •  Living on your own (Coming home to an empty house is appealing, but on the whole its incredibly boring)
  •  Food (Especially food that is described as “orgasmic”. Please. Do they have to link everything back to sex?? )
  •  Certain abstract art pieces (When you are presented with an art piece that compromises of squiggles, it does not have a deeper meaning. They are just squiggles. No more, no less)
  •  Posh restaurants and their food. (When you’re paying £22 a dish, you expect more than a peanut sized portion.)

There is more but its not coming to me at this moment.

What do you think is definitely over-rated and why?

Organ Enhancement

Why do I, as a woman, receive emails and gross spam informing me I could potentially “double performance power” by enhancing a certain organ I don’t even possess!
